—记4.15中美多元文化交流互动
As we all know, different countries have different cultures. And to be a Global Citizen, we need to learn to know different countries’ cultures and try to respect each other. XiWai International Kindergarten is an open-minded kindergarten and this year our School Subject is: The Construction of Private Teachers Multicultural Background.
众所周知，交流合作是文化传播的最有效途径！不同国家、民族乃至不同地都存在着很大的文化差异。作为一个国际化公民，我们更需要了解不同国家的风土人情，学会尊重各国文化、风俗。西外幼儿园就是一所思维开放的幼儿园，鉴于我们目前的课题项目—多元文化背景下民办教师师资队伍建设，我们愿以海纳百川的胸怀，实现多元文化的有效沟通、交流之愿景。
Last Friday (April, 15th ) was a very special day for XiWai International Kindergarten. 5 American Junior High school students came to visit Xiwai. They all came from Shu Ren International School, USA. Shu Ren school’s background is very similar to our school. The students were very kind and offered to play games with our K2 kids. Everyone seemed to have a lot of fun. They also taught our K2 kids about American culture and showed them how to play some American games. While we were sharing ideas about games, all the kids were very excited. We found that no matter what language we use, kids can still communicate and play together. We are like a family, regardless of what culture we come from.
对于西外幼儿园而言，上周五（4月15日）是一个极其特别的日子。我们迎来了来自美国树人国际学校的校长及5位初中生的亲切到访。美国树人国际学校是坐落于美国旧金山伯克利市的一所中英文双语国际学校，其办学理念及办学形式和西外都有着异曲同工之妙。造访的5位小嘉宾热情友善，落落大方地接受了大班孩子的邀请，一起加入了孩子们的晨间游戏。又和孩子们一起亲密交谈，分享了来自世界各国的传统游戏，孩子们用快乐游戏的形式拉近了彼此的距离。对于孩子们来说，游戏无国界。无论来自哪个国家、使用何种语言，游戏永远是孩子们最直接、最有效的沟通交流方式。
We had a short time to communicate with the Principal and teachers from Shu Ren. We shared many things including our: teaching concepts, subject matter, and guidelines for effective teaching. We talked about teachers’ comprehensive qualities, as well the similarities and differences between our multicultural schools’. The principal and kids from Shu Ren were more than happy to share their experiences and memories from their own kindergarten with us. They were also great in communicating in Chinese about their favorite subjects and Chinese experiences. The meeting allowed us to engage in and become aware of a different culture, which is what Xiwai is all about. Encouraging and promoting cultural awareness.
幼儿园的园长、老师们也和到访的美国树人学校校长、家长代表及孩子们进行了深度交流。我们互相交流办学理念、课程目标、教学方法、教师综合能力等等。值得一提的是，到访的小嘉宾们对中文都表现出极大的热情，给我们每个人都留下了极为深刻的印象。听她们用中文侃侃而谈各自最喜爱的课程和经历，足以见证她们学校对中文的重视程度。通过此番零距离的座谈，更进一步激励和促进了双方多元文化的交流。
Multicultural communication helps us know more about the world and makes us easily understand each other . This also helps us to globalize our teaching methods.
多元文化交流促进了两校双方的沟通与了解，也帮助我们更全面地了解世界。从而为老师们的教育教学方法带来更广阔的国际视野。
